Bring Some Colour To A Rainy Day

I've got a short list for you to lighten up that very grey day of yours. It's all in the colours, I tell you!

Paint your nails with vibrant shades, so your mood will shift from dull to posh every time you see your hands.

Wear bright-coloured wellies when you go out and about!
Accessorize

Nobody wants to get soaked-wet during a rainy day when going outside for whatever reason at all, so instead of using your mum's (or your!) old black umbrella that screams 'Mary Poppins', take one with all the colours of the rainbow with you.

A bright-coloured sweater will keep you warm.
Forever 21

Play with the moustached old man again with some family and friends.

Give Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, or whoever it is in your player, a rest and pop in some good ol' music. When was the last time you spun Here Comes The Sun?

Make a warm drink for you to sip in a nice mug, as you watch those raindrops race to your windowsill. Or better yet, make a few for you to share with family and friends.

Bake! And don't forget to use those cute baking cups! Here's an easy muffin recipe:

Ingredients:
2 cups of blueberries.
2 eggs.
2 cups of flour.
1 cup of sugar.
1/2 cup of milk.
1/4 cup of butter.
2 teaspoon of baking powder.
1 teaspoon of vanilla.
1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F.

Grease and floor muffin pan. Beat together the butter, eggs, salt and sugar.

Mix the flour with baking powder and sift into first mixture, alternating with milk.

Blend in the vanilla.

Add the blueberries.

Pour into the muffin pan and bake for about thirty minutes.

Thank God It's Friday! Chuck Comic-Con Panel, Lee DeWyze Engaged!

Let me start this post with Katy Perry's Last Friday Night music vid...

OK, This week had been a really tiring one (though we had 2 days of rest, due to the suspension of classes, and yesterday, we had our recollection, cancelling all our Thursday classes). I could pretty much say that doing nothing at all's quite exhausting. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm starting to miss real school! Today, however, we're finally going to have formal classes - History, English, Sociology, and Philosophy.

Now, for a news roundup...

Check out the Chuck Comic-Con panel here:

Watch them talk about Intersect Envy, Series Finale (Baby) Bombshells, and a Possible Sixth Season!!! here:

*************************************************

Claiming that his girlfriend, model-actress Jonna Walsh, is a "Disney freak", American Idol 2010 winner Lee DeWyze proposed to Walsh on a private yacht, as colourful fireworks lit the night sky at Disney World in Orlando last 16th of July. He says, “I had a speech prepared but it all went out the window so I just asked her. She started crying and I said, ‘Is that a yes?’” And of course, it was! They plan to tie the knot on 2012.

The two first met on October 2010 on the set of Sweet Serendipity, where Jonna played Lee's opposite. Watch the music video here:

Another Surprise: A Time Turner!!!

This week's full of surprises. First, on Monday, I received Zac Levi's autograph. Then on Tuesday, I found out that classes were suspended the moment I got to school, and today, I finally got my hands on my very own Time Turner!

It's not from the Noble Collection, but it's from the Wizarding World theme park. It's a bit bigger and heavier than I expected it to be, but it's 14-K gold, the tiny hourglass at the centre actually works, every ring turns and twists, and it looks as good as the real thing.

I love the thank you note (with a silver Dark Mark seal!) and the theme park map the eBay dealer has sent me together with my purchase - definitely makes me want to go to Orlando!

The Rainy Day Playlist

Here's my rainy day playlist, which I usually spin when the rain's pouring outside. They go well with warm pyjamas, a grey sweatshirt, a warm cup of cocoa, and a window to sit by... Enjoy the cold weather, but then again, peeps, take loads of care!

Hero's Song, by Brendan James

Fields of Gold, by Eva Cassidy

Accessorize: New In!

I've seriously gone bankrupt the past few days - er, weeks! - due to my Accessorize sale hype! And honestly, I still haven't gotten back to my normal ka-ching level. However, I've already got my eyes on these new items!

Camera Pendant Necklace
I love the vintage-rusty feel of it - kinda makes me wish it's the real thing.

Phoenix Cutesy Charm Bracelets
I'm a big fan of Accessorize's stretch bracelets, and these just make me want have them all around my wrist right now!

Zig Zag Jacquard Stole
I like how the prints give an ethnic and girly touch to the stole. I think I'd pair this with a brown top or a plain white shirt.

Crazy Daisies Coin Purse
Think about it - a garden of daisies to hold your money. One word: Lovely!

Valencia Tweed Margot Bag
I'll say it again - another bag won't hurt!

Novelty Butterfly Superslim Umbrella
You probably don't know what it's like in my school when it rains - awful! But I think this cute butterfly-print umbrella would lessen the awfulness of the weather. Definitely a MUST-HAVE!

Basic Leather Ballerina Shoes
This pair reminds me of little schoolgirls making their way to school... I don't just like this. I want THIS!

Rainy Morning

I have to admit, I love it when classes are suspended... like today. (Woohoo!) It's quite gloomy outside, a bit drizzly, pretty much like the good ol' Brighton spring weather, but I don't care. I always liked a cosy setting, perfect for curling up on the couch, and snoozing.

Have a good day, everyone! Take loads of care, drive safely, and sip loads of hot cocoa (coffee or tea, if you please)... :)

Handmade Fringe Charm Bracelet

Being too busy in school these days, I never got my hands near my DIY kit for quite some time now. However, last Sunday, I got the chance to get crafty again, and I came up with this fringe charm bracelet. I sorta mixed up complementing seed beads, head pins, 2 kinds of chains, and a few vintage charms I've been keeping. I gotta say, I'm happy with the outcome.

Oh, Chuck Me!

Today was quite tiring, especially this morning - with all the volleyball games  (though I'm awful, our team won twice, pushing us closer to winning!). I'm also pretty sure that I flunked my Philosophy quiz, except for the essay part, which I think, I deserve a lot of credit for. But my exhaustion and unexplained depression for a quiz of a subject I hate vanished when I got home.

Mama greeted me with a wide smile, saying, "I have good news for you!" She then ran to the bouffet table, and pulled an envelope to her back. "Guess what?!"

I blurted out, "Mao!"

I sent our Japanese friend, Mao, a mail a few weeks ago, and she told me that she already sent me a reply. Though she's in Slovak Republic, I'd probably get it by now, so I thought it was her. But mama shook her head, and gave me the post.

IT WAS FROM ZAC LEVI!

I was getting supper jumpy the moment I had the envelope in my hands. Now, I believe in the power of fan mail, and the saying: "All good things to those who wait."

Afternoon Post: RIP Amy Winehouse

OK, the news that Amy Winehouse was found dead yesterday just shocked me - totally shocked me. First of all, she's amazing! And second, she's only 27! She's got a lot ahead of her, and in just one snap - kaput... gone.

And again, another star has fallen, but her music lives on in the hearts of millions...

RIP Amy Winehouse

Bookshop Babies

I was at the bookshop today, looking for a new read, and I happened to see these kids who pretty much made my day. Seeing young 'uns reading picture books on the floor just charms me. Maybe, it's because when I was younger, I was just like them - reading my time away, immersing myself in a different world, as I traced my tiny fingers on colourful illustrations. Or maybe because, it's nice to know that even in this very techie generation, there are still children who read 'The Printed Word'.

Soon enough, they'll grow up, and the picture books in their hands will be replaced by short novels with some pictures, then real novels, and so on... Who knows? If they get really inspired, like me, they might end up as aspiring authors, who'd fill the shelves of tomorrow with their works.

Keep it up, kids! The future of real books lies in our hands!

Love These :)

Butterfly wings in tiny vials - sad, I know. But you can't deny that these look really lovely :)

This Beatles print is enough to brighten up my everyday :)

I have loads and loads of bags, but having another one wouldn't make a difference... I guess :)

Just the reason I need to drop by my favourite shop again :)

A tiny tinge of magic and mystery to a chic-lit novel... Cecelia Ahern got me again :)

Middle Class Princess

Hey guys! After all those Potter Posts (which I sure miss posting), I have a new feature here in Innocent Wild - Middle Class Princess.

I, myself, am one of the million middle class princesses all over the world, and I want to share a piece of my everyday life with you, to let you all know that as awesome as I seem in this blog, with my crafty hands and all, I am just like any other middle class girl who has her own insecurities, anxieties, and wild dreams.

A middle class princess doesn't need a tiara on her head. All she needs is the courage and the will to battle everyday's challenges!
