Christmas Read: The Gift by Cecelia Ahern

Being a very big fan of Cecelia Ahern, I decided to read a very special novel of hers for the holiday season - The Gift.

This very warm story revolves around the life of the cold-hearted Lou Suffern, a very successful man whose job demands him to be in two places at a time (if possible!), and neither of those is with his devoted wife or children. Even during the most-celebrated season of the year, he doesn't have a space reserved for family time. It's always work for him. However, when he meets a peculiar homeless man who introduces himself as "Gabe", everything gradually changes.

First, he buys him a cup of coffee. Then, he gives him some clothes to change. And the grandest of all: Lou gives Gabe a job. He was just trying to be kind to the very clever man who seems to memorise every pair of shoes that pass him by. Before he knew it, Gabe is turning up in and out of Lou's busy life at the most inopportune times, as though he could be in two places at a time. But if Gabe's real mission is to fix what's broken in Lou's life, will he make it before time runs out?

Once again, Cecelia Ahern touches the hearts of many with this Christmas novel. The Gift truly is a magical holiday treat with an ending you won't expect.

Note: perfect for curling on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa within reach!
