Going Green 101
1. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. It never gets old.
2. On holiday trips, never forget to unplug all your electronic devices at home.
3. Plant a tree.
4. Grow your own herb garden, so you won't have to take a trip to the supermarket when all you need is basil or rosemary.
5. Rescue a pet! If you don't want to purchase a pet from a shop or breeder, adopt one from a shelter.
6. Place a brick or two inside the toilet tank. It saves water used for flushing.
7. Buy organic food.
8. Take a reusable bottle of water with you wherever you go - less waste, less cost.
9. Buy eco-friendly clothing made from 100% cotton.
10. Bring your own shopping bag when you have to do your shopping runs.
11. Collect rain water in a container for later use - it's great for watering plants.
12. Maximize the use of baking soda! It's also a smart substitute for fancy cleaning products.
Going green is not simple. It requires a bit of sacrifice and a bit of work too - changing your environmentally-unconscious habits and all that. But when you start taking these tiny steps towards a greener future, your efforts of saving Mother Earth will pay off.
